Three people have died of electrocution in two separate incidents in Chapainawabganj, police said on Friday.
The deceased were identified as Shimul, 25, from the Namo Jagannathpur Fuldia area in Durlavpur union, his relative Samnur Begum, 65, and Abdul Malek, 26, from the Dublibhandar area in Chokokirti union.
According to locals, Shimul and Samnur Begum were coming to Dadanchak by boat from the Fuldia Ghat on the Padma River in Namo Jagannathpur at around 7pm on Thursday.
As the water level in the river rose, the duo came in contact with the rural power lines hanging over the river and were electrocuted, killed on the spot.
Upon receiving information, firemen and police recovered the bodies and handed them over to their family members.

On the other hand, Abdul Malek was electrocuted while fixing an electric wire in his house in the Dublibhandar area of Chokokirti union around the same time.
He was rushed to Shibganj Upazila Health Complex, where doctors declared him dead.
Shibganj police station Officer-in-Charge Farid Hossain said the body was handed over to the family later in the night as there was no complaint from the family.
