Two people died after a boat collided with a trawler and capsized in the Khiru River in Gazipur’s Sreepur on Tuesday night.
The deceased are Tanvir Hossain, 30, and Dr Amit Kumar Saha, 39, of Bhaluka Upazila Health Complex.
Dr Amit had been missing for sometime before his body was recovered from the river on Wednesday afternoon.

A health complex employee, Mahfuz Ara Begum, said that a group of around 20 doctors and employees of the hospital had gone on a boat trip on Tuesday evening.
During the return trip, the boat collided with a cement-laden trawler and capsized at around 8pm.

A divers’ unit of Mymensingh fire service rushed to the spot and recovered Tanvir’s body at around midnight.
Bhaluka UNO Salma Khatun said passengers on board the boat had fallen into the river after the collision, but everyone except Tanvir and Amit managed to swim to land.
