A total of 259 more people have tested positive for Covid-19 in six districts in Rajshahi Division on Friday, taking the caseload to 87,617 since the pandemic began.
With six more Covid-19 related fatalities, reported on the same day, the division’s death toll reached 1,405.
Of the total, 592 died in Bogra district, 253 in Rajshahi with 149 in the city, and 143 in Chapainawabganj, said divisional health director Dr Habibul Ahsan Talukder.
The new daily infection figure shows a significant falling trend compared to the previous day’s 637.
With the newly detected patients, the district-wise break-up of the total cases now stands at 25,229 in Rajshahi, including 20,260 in its city, 5,183 in Chapainawabganj, 6,058 in Naogaon, 7,232 in Natore, 4,265 in Joypurhat, 19,535 in Bogra, 9,378 in Sirajganj and 10,737 in Pabna.

Among the infected people, 64,852 have, so far, recovered from the lethal virus with 485 new recoveries reported on the day.
A total of 12,998 infected patients are now undergoing treatment at different designated hospitals in the division.
Besides, all the positive cases for Covid-19 have, so far, been brought under necessary treatment while 20,350 were kept in isolation units of different hospitals for institutional supervision. Of them, 14,003 have by now been released.

On the other hand, 153 more people have been sent to home and institutional quarantine afresh while 213 others were released from isolation during the last 24 hours till 8am Saturday.
A total of 1,03,360 people have, so far, been kept under quarantine since March 10 last year to prevent the community transmission of Covid-19.
Of them, 92,468 have, by now, been released as they were given clearance certificates after completing their 14-day quarantine.
