15 more die at RMCH Covid-19 unit in 24 hours

At least 403 patients undergoing treatment at the hospital’s coronavirus unit

Fifteen more deaths were recorded at the Covid-19 unit of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) in the last 24 hours till Friday morning.

Of those deceased, five tested positive for Covid-19, eight had its symptoms and two others died after becoming negative for Covid-19.

Seven of them were aged above 61, three were 51 to 60, one was 41 to 50, to were 31 to 40 and two were 21 to 30, RMCH Director Shamim Yazdani told Dhaka Tribune.

Among them, eight were from Rajshahi, two each from Natore and Pabna and one each from Naogaon, Chapainawabganj and Kushtia districts.

Forty-seven people were also admitted to the hospital’s Covid-19 unit in the last 24 hours till Friday morning, added the director.

Total 34 went home after recovering from the infectious disease during the same period.

Some 403 people are undergoing treatment at the hospital’s 513-bed Covid-19.

Meanwhile, in the same time period, 529 samples were tested, of which 126 were positive.

The infection rate decreased to 23.82% from 23.83% the previous day.
