Police have detained a man for allegedly beating several wild animals to death.
The detained, Saiful Islam, is a resident of Satkhira’s Kaliganj upazila.
Undeterred by locals’ reproach, Saiful has been killing wild animals for some time, police said in its verified Facebook post on Friday.
On Monday, a video and photos of him beating a wildcat to death went viral on social media platforms.
Upon receiving information from a concerned citizen, the Media and Public Relations Division of Bangladesh Police directed Kaliganj police station OC Golam Mostafa to apprehend him.
Saiful will face legal action in this connection, police said.
