Police in Comilla have arrested a man for killing his eight-month pregnant wife.
On Friday night, locals at the city’s Tikkachar neighbourhood detained Billal Hossain from his home and turned him over to the police after he assaulted his wife Pinky Akhter.
A severely injured Pinky was rushed to the Comilla Medical College Hospital, where she died early on Saturday.

The victim’s mother has started a murder case against Billal, who has been sent to jail after being produced in court, said Inspector Kamal Krishna Dhar of the Kotwali police station.
According to the victim’s family, Billal Hossain had been torturing 22-year-old Pinky for quite some time for dowry.
He’s being tried in court in another case over attacking his wife and mother-in-law with sharp weapons, they said.
