Khulna division sees 40 new Covid deaths

Besides, 213 people tested positive for Covid-19 during the period

As many as 40 people died of Covid-19 in the Khulna division in the past 24 hours, health officials said on Thursday.

According to the health director's office, 12 people died in Kushtia, 10 in Khulna, eight in Meherpur, four each in Magura, and three each in Jhenaidah and Jessore districts.

Besides, 213 people tested positive for Covid-19 during the period, according to the divisional health department.

On July 10, the division logged a record number of 71 Covid deaths. The total death toll in the division has now crossed 2,063, said the health officials.

Some 85,174 cases have been detected in 10 districts of the division since the onset of Covid, of which 58,135 patients have recovered so far.

In the Khulna division, the first case of Covid-19 was detected in Chuadanga on March 19, 2020.
