More than 100 people were injured in different parts of Brahmanbaria on Wednesday while slaughtering sacrificial animals and cutting meat on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
The emergency department of Brahmanbaria 250-bed General Hospital confirmed the information. At least 10 injured were taking treatment at the hospital.
Most of the injured left the hospital after primary treatment, said on-duty doctor Dhiman Debnath.
He said that the injured had wounds on various parts of their body including fingers and toes, caused mainly for having little or no experience in slaughtering cows and cutting meat.

Injured Mostaq Ahmed of Kazipara area of the city said he got injured in the leg while cutting meat, leading to having three stitches. Later, his family members brought him to the hospital.
Another injured Nayan, from Ramrail village of sadar upazila, said: “I was inadvertently stabbed in the hand while cutting meat.”
Rajib, from Bhatpara village of sadar upazila, said while slaughtering a buffalo, the bond was torn and it fell on him. This resulted in serious injuries to his hands, face, and various parts of his body. The doctor on duty at the hospital admitted him.
