A youth has been arrested for allegedly raping a five-year-old child in Bandugram village under Moyna union in Faridpur’s Boalmari upazila.
Locals and police identified the arrestee as Harichand Malo, 20.
He has been shown arrested in a rape case filed by the child's father at Boalmari police station.
According to case details, Harichand lured the child into his kitchen with a candy and raped her on Thursday morning.

He fled when the child’s mother and other neighbours rushed to the child's rescue after hearing her screams.
Later in the evening, locals caught Harichand and handed him over to Boalmari police.
Boalmari police Sub-Inspector Mamunur Rashid, also the case investigation officer, said Harichand was sent to jail through the district's Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on Friday.
