Breaking all the past records, the number of Covid-19 infected patients is rapidly increasing in Barisal division.
Barisal logged 710 fresh Covid-19 cases in 24 hours till Sunday morning, the division's highest single-day spike this year.
The total number of the infected patients now stands at 22,109; among them, 15,764 patients have already recovered.
Thirteen people have died of Covid-19 or with symptoms of the disease in the last 24 hours.
Of the deceased, eight people died with covid symptoms at the isolation ward of Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital (SBMCH).

The total number of Covid-19 deaths in Barisal division stands at 349 people, said the Divisional Health Director Dr Basudev Kumar Das.
However, SBMCH sources said that 229 Covid-19 positive patients and 596 patients with Covid-19 symptoms have died in the hospital.
So far, In the last 24 hours to Sunday, 47 people were admitted to the isolation ward while four others were kept at the coronavirus ward of SBMCH.
In the last 24 hours, two people died from Covid in Pirojpur, and one each in Patuakhali, Barguna and Jhalakathi.
Of the total 22,109 infected 9,396 are in Barisal, 2,843 in Patuakhali, 2,256 in Bhola, 3,103 in Barguna and 2,678 in Jhalakathi.
