A total of 1,225 more people have tested positive for Covid-19 in all eight districts of the division in the last 24 hours till Tuesday morning, taking the caseload to 61,650.
With 24 more fatalities from the disease reported on the day, the death toll reached 973, including 435 in Bogra, 178 in Rajshahi with 99 in its city and 119 in Chapainawabganj, said Dr Habibul Ahsan Talukder, divisional director of Health.
The new daily infection figure shows a surging trend compared to the previous day's figure of 1,123, the health department sources said.
Among the infected people, 42,244 have, so far, been cured of the lethal virus with 497 new recoveries reported during the time.
A total of 7,342 infected patients are now undergoing treatment at different designated hospitals here.

19 more deaths at RMCH
Nineteen more deaths were reported at the Rajshahi Medical College Hospital's (RMCH) Covid-19 unit in the last 24 hours till Tuesday morning, as the country continues to reel from a devastating second wave of the pandemic.
Four of them had tested positive for Covid-19, 15 had the symptoms but had not been tested or did not have their test results, officials said.
Ten were from Rajshahi, two each from Naogaon and Natore, one each from Chapainawabganj, Pabna, Kushtia, Chuadanga, and Joypurhat districts, RMCH Director Brig Gen Shamim Yazdani told Dhaka Tribune.
“Of the new fatalities, 13 were men and six were women,” he added.
With the latest development, the overall death toll at the RMCH Corona Unit since July 1 now stands at 101. Of them, 32 were Covid-19 positive.
As many as 489 people are undergoing treatment at the hospital against the unit's 454 beds.
