A total of 61 more people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Gopalganj in the last 24 hours till 8am on Friday, taking the total number of infected patients to 4,566.
With four more fatalities from the disease reported afresh on the day, the total death toll as of yet reached 51, confirmed Gopalganj Civil Surgeon Dr Sujat Ahmed.
Of the new fatalities, two are in Sadar upazila, and one each in Kashiani and Muksudpur upazilas.
Of the newt detected cases, 18 are in Sadar, eight in Tungipara, nine in Kotalipara, 15 in Kashiani and 10 in Muksudpur upazilas.
“Among the infected people, 3,964 have, so far, been cured of the lethal virus with 15 new recoveries found this morning,” said Dr Sujat, adding that a total of 35 infected patients are now undergoing treatment at different designated hospitals while 243 people were quarantined in their respective homes.
