The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) confiscated around 1,400kg of shrimps, injected with jelly-like substances to increase their weight, from Rupsha Bridge in Khulna on Thursday afternoon.
A mobile court fined four traders Tk20,000 each and sentenced them to two months' imprisonment regarding the seizure.

The four are Uttam Sarkar, 32, Bapparaj Sardar, 25, Hafizul Gazi Salauddin, 33, and Alamin Sardar, 23.
RAB 6 Director Lt Col Raushanul Firoz said the four traders were adjudged under Section 42 of the Consumers' Right Protection Act, 2009.
