A 30-year-old pregnant woman was found dead in Bhabanipur village of the Baraigram upazila in Natore on Wednesday.
The eight-month-pregnant deceased was identified as Shahanur Begum.
Anwarul Islam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Boraigram Police Station, said all members of the woman's family went to a musical program in the village on Wednesday evening, leaving her alone in the house.
When they returned home in the night, they found the deceased lying in a pool of blood with her throat slit.
Her body was sent to a local hospital for an autopsy by the police.
The woman's mother-in-law Roshena Begum and brother-in-law Abdur Rashid have been detained for questioning, the OC said.
