A 16-year-old girl has been drugged and raped in Sylhet’s Lamapara area, where she was allegedly lured into believing she would shoot Tik Tok and Likee videos.
The incident took place on May 19, according to police.
The survivor’s father filed a case with Shahporan police station in Sylhet city in this regard on Wednesday, against TikTok and Likee content creators Juber Ahmed Fanny, from Lamapara area, and Liza, from Tilagar area.
According to the case statement, the teenager was connected to a Likee and TikTok video sharing community. Few months ago, she came to know Liza, who was a part of the same community. At one point Liza offered to take her (the survivor) along for a shoot in Jaflong, with another companion, Fanny.
On May 19, Liza took her to Fanny’s house in Lamapara, where she was allegedly drugged and raped.
Anjan Singh, the investigating officer of the case, said police were working to arrest the accused in the case.
