Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has detained 10 people, including men, women and children, from Benapole’s Gatipara while they were illegally returning to Bangladesh from India.
Benapole ICP Camp Commander Nayeb Subedar Monir Hossain said the BGB officials conducted a drive in Gatipara border area after a tip-off and detained the people early Sunday.
He said the people caught - Munni, 25, Kajal, 30, Al-Amin, 27, Chagir Munshi, 28, Nipu, 27, Kulsum, 22, Shefali , 50, Momin, 4 and Shankar Shakil, 2, Mim, 2 - were crossing the border without any passport or visa.
"However, we could not detain any human trafficker during the drive," he added.
The detainees have been handed over to the Benapole Port police station, Monir said.
