Three people were killed and four others were injured in a collision between a car and an easy bike on the Jhenaidah-Kushtia Highway on Wednesday.
The deceased are Tahura Khatun, 25, Tuhin 28, and Renu Khatun, 45.
The accident took place at around 2:45pm in Shailkupa upazila’s Dudsar area, said Shailkupa police station OC Jahangir Alam.
Police suspect that all the victims were passengers of the easy bike.
Upon receiving information, a local fire service unit rushed to the spot and took the injured to Jhenaidah Sadar Hospital.
Two of the injured persons were in critical condition, and the death toll from the accident could increase, said Dr Maruf Akter of the hospital’s emergency department.
