Rajshahi sadar Member of Parliament and Workers Party General Secretary Fazle Hossain Badsha has been admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH) after being infected with Covid-19.
RMCH Deputy Director Saiful Ferdous said the MP tested positive for the virus on Wednesday and was admitted to the VIP cabin of the hospital at 8:30pm on the same day.
He added that he and MP Fazle Hossain Badsha had been vaccinated with the first dose of Covid-19 vaccine on February 7 and the second dose on April 8.
He was the first to be vaccinated with two doses of the coronavirus vaccine in Rajshahi.
The MP developed a mild fever after the second dose of vaccine and had been having high fever from Monday.
He then gave his sample for a Covid-19 test on Tuesday. The sample test report came out positive on Wednesday, said Saiful Ferdous.
Even though he was Covid-19 positive his oxygen level was 97%, he added.
