A woman and a man were shot dead in separate incidents at Pekua and Teknaf upazilas in Cox's Bazar on Sunday.
Pekua Police station Officer-in-Charge Saifur Rahman said housewife Selina Akhter was shot dead allegedly by a young man named Mamun over a land dispute in Ghona area of Barbakia Bodamajhi in Pekua around 2:30 pm. College students Nazmur Shakib and Saiful Islam were injured in the incident. Later, locals detained two people and handed them over to the police.
Meanwhile, a man named Imam Hossain was shot dead by the members of Khaleq bahini in Leda Nurali Para of Hnila Union in Teknaf around 10 pm. On information, police recovered the body.
Teknaf Police station Officer-in-Charge Hafizur Rahman said the body was sent to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy.
