The newly completed Boalia-Kalikapur road in Rajbari's Kalukhali upazila has eased the commute for hundreds of people and has made the district headquarters accessible to the rest of the country.
The Local Government and Engineering Department (LGED) has constructed the 6km road under the Greater Faridpur Rural Infrastructure Development Project (2nd phase).
It was partially opened for public in June last year, to ease communications and the road has reduced the travel time to the area by half.
Farmers are also benefiting from this road as it takes half the time for perishable goods to arrive at the market.
Rajbari LGED Executive Engineer Khan A Shamim said they have already taken up more road construction works to improve the rural communication network.
