Titas Gas clients in Narayanganj and Munshiganj suffered an unannounced disruption in the gas supply from Tuesday morning till later in the afternoon due to repair works in the pipeline.
Due to leakage in some valves in Narayanganj's Siddhirganj-Godnail RMS (Gas Pressure Control and Supervision Center) and Godnail TBS (Town Border Station), gas supply was suspended around 10am, said a press release from Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources on Tuesday.

Once the valves were replaced, the gas supply was restored a little after 5pm, confirmed Shafiqul Islam Khan, director (operation) Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Ltd.
Earlier in the day, State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid directed the Titas authorities to restore gas supply to Narayanganj and Munshiganj areas as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, local residents were seen rushing to restaurants for breakfast and lunch due to the suspension of gas supply while some were seen using gas cylinders or clay stoves.
