With the harsh grip of winter letting up, the Met office has forecast cloudy skies and light rain or drizzle in several regions of the country, including the capital.
Light rain or drizzle is likely to occur at one or two places in Dhaka, Mymensingh, and Sylhet divisions and some regions of Comilla and Noakhali, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department said.
“Weather may remain mainly dry with a temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country,” it stated, adding that night and day temperature may fall slightly over the country.
Although the mercury has risen in the last couple of days, the feeling of cold has increased in some areas due to cloudy skies caused by aqueous vapour, reports Bangla Tribune.
The weather behaves adversely at this time of the season.
Meteorologist Abdur Rahman said: “The temperature will rise slightly on Sunday. However, the mercury may drop due to drizzle in some parts of the country.
“The weather will be similar tomorrow [Monday] as well. Afterwards, the temperature will start to rise again slowly.”
The lowest temperature in the country was recorded at 10.5°C in Sreemangal.
In the divisional cities, the lowest temperature in Dhaka was recorded at 17°C, Mymensingh and Chittagong at 15.4°C, Sylhet at 14.6°C, Rajshahi and Rangpur at 12.8°C, Khulna at 16°C and Barisal at 13.5°C.
