A housewife was allegedly gang-raped in Kapasia upazila of Gazipur on Thursday night.
The incident took place in the Noraiddertek area under Torgaon union around 9:30pm.
Mother of the 22 year old rape survivor filed a case against eight persons with Kapasia police station on Friday.
Police, meanwhile, arrested seven of the accused while the prime accused, Sakhawat Hossain, 28, is on the run. All of them are residents of the same area.
The arrested are - Mahfuzul Haq, 20, Mahbubul Hossain Shakib, 22, Roman Bepari, 20, Masum Sheikh, 21, Rakib Hossain, 20, Jobayer, 21, and Mostarin Sarder, 21.
Kapasia police station Sub-Inspector (SI) Aminul Islam said Sakhawat used to talk to the woman, wife of an expatriate, on mobile phone regularly.
The rape survivor, who is also a mother of a child, came to visit her father's house in Kapasia on Thursday from her in-laws' house in Narsingdi, he said.

At night, Sakhawat called the woman on his mobile phone and asked her to come to Noraiddertek so he could give her a mobile phone as a gift.
When she reached the spot, Sakhawat and his accomplices raped the woman, the SI said.
Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) (Kaliganj circle) Farzana Yasmin said the rape survivor has been sent to Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmad Medical College and Hospital in Gazipur for medical tests.
"We are conducting drives to arrest the prime accused," she added.
Bangladesh has witnessed a surge in incidents of sexual violence against women.
At least 975 individuals were raped between January and September this year, among whom 208 were victims of gang rape, civil rights organization Ain o Salish Kendra (ASK) said in October.
