Police recovered the decomposed body of a seven-year-old boy from a kitchen of his neighbor in Narayanganj’s Sonargaon upazila on Thursday evening, nine days after he went missing on December 1.
The deceased identified as Zisan Sheikh, 7 lived at Jampur Moshirtek area of the upazila with his family, said Sonargaon police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rafiqul Islam.
Zisan’s father Ilias Sheikh filed a case on Thursday night accusing neigbour Rasheda Begum, 35, her daughter Swapna, 18 and 12-year-old son. The accused are currently on the run.
According police and locals, Ilias Sheikh who works as a gardener at BRB Spinning mills has been living with his two sons and wife at Jampur Moshirtek area of Sonargaon upazila.
On December 1, Zisan suddenly went missing while he was playing in front his home. After a frantic search for Zisan, next day his father Ilias Sheikh filed a General Diary (GD) with Sonargaon police station.
On Thursday evening (December 10) nine days after Zisan’s disappearance, locals smelled bad odour that was coming from the kitchen of neighbor Rasheda Begum, who works as a chef at the BRB Spinning mills, causing suspicion in their mind. Later they went to the kitchen where the dead body of Zisan was discovered in a sack.
After being informed, police came to the scene and recovered the dead body.
Regarding the matter, Sonargaon police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rafiqul Islam, said the decomposed body was sent to hospital for autopsy. At this moment, police cannot say anything about the matter in details unless the autopsy report reaches us.
“We could not confirm yet whether Zisan’s family has any dispute with anyone. But we have told neighbour Rasheda Begum and his daughter and son to appear in police station.” he said.
“I hope police will be able to arrest the culprits involved in the matter soon.” the OC added.
