The bodies of two Bangladeshi teenagers, who were shot dead by the Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at the Khoshalpur border under Maheshpur upazila in Jhenidah on Tuesday, were not returned to Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) even a day after the killing.
Commander of 58 BGB unit Zillur Rahman said a battalion commander level flag meeting was held at night between BGB and BSF over the killing of the two Bangladeshi teenagers.
The bodies were kept at the morgue of Krishnapur Hospital in India, he said.
The bodies might be returned after a meeting is held between BGB and BSF on Wednesday, he added.
According to previous reports published in the Dhaka Tribune, two Bangladeshi teenagers- Shohel Rana, 16, a student of Bakoshpota Secondary School and son of Shahidul Islam of Khoshalpur, and Harunur Rashid, 15, a student of Shamkur Secondary School and son of Kawsar Ali of Shyamkur in the upazila- were gunned down allegedly by members of BSF when the duo were trying to enter India illegally.
