Principal M Humayun Mahmud, former joint general secretary and vice-president of Comilla North District Awami League (AL) died on Thursday night at the age of 66.
“Principal Humayun, also a former senate member of Dhaka University Central Student Union (DUCSU), died at 11:30pm while he was undergoing treatment at Square Hospital in the city,” according to his family sources.
His first namaj-e janaza was held at Iskaton garden Jam-e mosque in the city at 9am on Friday.
He will be buried at his family graveyard in Debiddar after the second namaj-e janaza at Mohammadpur Serajul Haque College premises in Debiddar.
Comilla North District Awami League, Jubo League and Chattra League expressed deep shock at the death of Principal M Humayun Mahmud.
