A woman has been gang-raped reportedly by three men in Godagari upazila, Rajshahi.
The incident took place in a mango orchard in Deopara union on Saturday night, sources said.
Police from three police stations, Kashiadanga, Damkura and Godagari, in a joint drive arrested the three people for their reported involvement in the incident, confirmed SM Masud Parvez, officer-in-charge of Kashiadanga police station.
The accused, Shukur, 40, Rony, 30, and Babu, 45, reportedly took the woman, a vegetable vendor, to a deserted place and raped her taking turns, according to case statement.
“Acting on the woman’s complaint we arrested one of the perpetrators. Afterwards we arrested the other two conducting joint drives on the same night,” said the Kashiadanga OC.
“We sent the perpetrators to jail through the court on Sunday. The woman was sent to a hospital for medical check-up,” added the OC.
