Update : 25 Oct 2020, 09:18 AM

Police have recovered the dead body of a female jute mill worker from a roadside in Narayanganj.

Rahima Begum’s, 45, body was recovered on the Madanpur-Narayanganj bypass road in Chanpur area on Saturday afternoon.

Later, an unnatural death was filed at night, said Narayanganj Bandar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Fakhruddin Bhuiyan.

There were several injury marks on Rahima’s body and her nose was crushed, said police.

Police believe Rahima, wife of Ruhul Amin from Madanpur’s Koitarbagh area, died in a road accident. However, her family claims she was killed deliberately.

Her nephew Abdur Rahman said: “Ruhul Amin recently got remarried elsewhere. He had conflicts with my aunt over that matter and even used to torture her. At one point, my aunt started living separately and took a job in the jute mill in Kanchpur area.”

On Friday, Rahima went for work and did not return back. She was searched everywhere but could not be found. Later, locals found the body by the roadside and informed police.

Police recovered the body and sent it to Narayanganj General Hospital for autopsy.
