A ninth-grade school student and a sixth-grade madrasa student have been raped on two consecutive days in Companiganj, Sylhet.
Fakhrul Islam, the accused rapist of the madrasa student, was arrested by police after the mother of the sixth-grader filed a case at Companiganj police station on Monday night.
On Sunday night, Fakhrul, a CNG-run auto rickshaw driver allegedly raped the sixth-grader, police said.
On Saturday around 8pm, Miraj Ali, 40, from Kathalbari village of the upazila, allegedly raped the ninth-grader girl.
Miraj, a father of four, seeing the girl alone outside, forcefully took her to a nearby filed and raped her.
On Monday, the father of the rape survivor filed a case at the Companiganj police station.
Companiganj police station Officer-In-Charge (OC) KM Nazrul said, two separate rape cases were filed at the station.
The ninth-grader girl was sent to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital for treatment and one was arrested in connection with the rape of the sixth-grader, the OC said.
