At least six people, including five minors, have been raped in five districts around the country.
Police have arrested four people on charges of rape while one is on the run and another accused is underaged.
The arrests were made on Monday and Tuesday.
In Narayanganj, police on Monday arrested a man named Abu Bakkar, 40, for reportedly raping two sisters in the district’s Siddhirganj upazila.
The girl's father early on Tuesday filed a case in connection with the rape, which took place in Mizmizi Kandapara area on October 5.
Siddhirganj police station OC Kamrul Faruk said: “The two sisters had a quarrel with their father on the night of October 5 and left their house. They sought refuge with Bakkar, who gave them shelter at his house and raped them.”
In Satkhira, police arrested a construction worker for reportedly raping a seventh grader in Kaliganj upazila.
The arrestee, Mahafizul Islam, took the girl to a deserted place and raped her on Monday morning, police said.
Confirming the incident, Kaliganj police OC Delwar Hossain said: “We sent him to jail after the court recorded his testimony.”
In Brahmanbaria, police arrested two people on charges of raping a woman in Nabinagar on Monday.
The arretee, Kala Miah, 55, with his associate Abu Syed, 52, reportedly raped Kala’s daughter-in-law on Sunday, as confirmed by Inspector Ruhul Amin of Nabinagar police station.
He said: “We sent the suspects to jail via the court.”
In Chuadanga, a ninth grader girl was reportedly raped by her neighbour Kamruzzaman in the early hours of Tuesday in Naodabondbil village in Alamdanga upazila.
Confirming the incident, Alamgir Kabir, OC of Alamdanga police station, said: “We sent the girl to a hospital for check-ups and have been conducting drives to arrest the suspect.”
In Munshiganj, police on Monday evening arrested a madrasa student for reportedly raping a child in Tongibari, Munshiganj.
The accused is a 15-year-old boy who took the child to a nearby field on his bicycle and raped her on Saturday.
“As the accused is a minor we cannot arrest him. We will take him to court,” said Harun-or-Rashid, officer-in-charge of Tongibari police station.
