A Chittagong court on Saturday granted remand for eight people accused in a case filed over gang-raping a woman in Chittagong.
Of them, the prime accused Jahangir Alam was placed on a five day remand while the others were put on three day remands each, by Chittagong Metropolitan Magistrate Khairul Amin
The other accused are: Md Yusuf, Md Ripon, Md Sujon, Jobayer Hossain, Md Shahed, Rintu Dutt alias Biplob and Monowara Begum.
Of them, Monowara Begum aided the accused for allegedly violating the woman. The case was lodged with Chandgaon police station in this connection.
Inspector Rajesh Barua (Investigation) of Chandgaon police station confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune.

Previously on Friday, police arrested the accused eight after a 22-year-old woman was gang-raped in Moulavipukurpar area of Chittagong city on Thursday night.
She is now undergoing treatment at the One-stop Crisis Centre (OCC) of Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH).
