A fire has broken out at the Kutupalong Rohingya camp in Cox’s Bazar raising concerns of the locals after deadly clashes between two groups of Rohingya refugees.
The fire broke out Wednesday night around 10pm and was not doused until after midnight, fire service officials confirmed.
Quoting the local eyewitnesses, police said that perpetrators from one of the Rohingya groups carried out an arson attack on the camp in Ukhiya.

Confirming the incident, Gazi Salahuddin, officer-in-charge of Ukhiya police station said they informed the Fire Service officials of the incident and they will take care of the fire.
He also said police can only confirm the losses after a thorough investigation.
The Fire Service and Civil Defence crew rushed to Block-C of the camp, the largest refugee encampment in the world, after hearing about the incident on Wednesday night.

Three rooms of the camp were burned to ashes and five more have been damaged, said Rakib Ahmed, a fireman of Ukhiya Fire Service.
At least eight people have been killed in the clashes between old and new refugees over control of the camp in the past week.
