The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of police has arrested the prime accused in a murder case in Narsingdi.
A team of CID conducted a drive in Sreepur of Gazipur and apprehended Kabir Mia, 40, who had been absconding for the last three years after the murder.
At a press conference in the capital on Saturday, CID's Dhaka divisional Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Mainul Hasan said Kabir, a resident of Narsingdi's Belabo, along with his three associates killed Sohrab Hossain alias Musa on October 10, 2017.
The family of the victim then filed a case at Belabo police station.
After the investigation, the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) submitted a charge sheet to a court in Narsingdi.
As the victim's family disagreed with the PBI on the charge sheet, the court ordered the CID to investigate the case again, Mainul said.
Kabir has several murder and robbery cases filed against him, he added.
