Customs authorities have seized 82 gold bars after detaining a passenger at Shah Amanat International Airport on Thursday morning.
The detained passenger is Md Enamul Haque, a resident of Chakaria upazila of Cox’s Bazar district.
The seized gold bars weighing around 9.50 kg worth Tk5.74 crore.
Wing Commander ABM Sarwar-E-Zaman, manager of Shah Amanat International Airport, confirmed the matter to Dhaka Tribune.
According to the airport customs sources, the detained passenger landed at Shah Amanat International Airport on a flight from Dubai.
