Law enforcers arrested another suspect of the gang rape at Sylhet’s Murari Chand (MC) college -- from Fenchuganj upazila in Sylhet early Monday .
According to sources, the arrest was made in a joint drive by the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and the Detective Branch (DB) of police.
The arrested has been identified as Rajon. With the latest arrest, the number of people arrested in connection with the incident rose to five, sources from the police said.
Acting on a tip-off that Rajon had gone into hiding in one of his relatives house in Kochua Noyatila area, law enforcers made a drive there and arrested him.
They took his associate one Ainul, into custody for assisting him to go into hiding.
Earlier on Sunday, law enforcement officials arrested altogether four people from different places all of whom are accused in the case filed over the gang rape.
The arrestees accused in the case were Shah Mahbubur Rahman Rony, Robiul Islam, Arjun Laskar, and the key suspect M Saifur Rahman.
They are among the named accused in the case filed against seven to eight people by the victim’s husband at Shah Paran police station on Saturday.

Among the six accused named, Tarek and Mahfuzur Rahman are still on the run.
A woman was raped allegedly by Chhatra League men on the premises of the hostel of Sylhet's MC College when she was visiting with her husband on Friday night.

Sources said a group of Chhatra League men confined the woman's husband in a room and took the woman to a car, where she was gang-raped.
Police rescued the couple from the hostel premises and admitted the woman to the One Stop Crisis Centre of Sylhet’s Osmani Medical College Hospital around 10:30pm on Friday.
