Following the filing of the case, Alauddin was arrested  on September 20 from his house in Mahmudpur area of Fatullah union.

On Sept 22, police took him on a one-day remand. Since then, there has been increased tension and roadblocks across the city. Meanwhile, the two groups called for mass gathering on Sunday.
