A teenage girl was sexually harassed in public by a group of hooligans in Puniyaut of Brahmanbaria municipality.
A video of the incident posted on social media Wednesday drew mass criticism from concerned netizens. The video first posted on a Facebook page titled “WishForBetterBrahmanbaria” went viral in moments.
The clip shows a teenage girl in black burqa being held up by 3-4 young men near a local park in the town.
Among the hooligans, one identified in the Facebook post as Rahim grabbed the girl, pulled her to his side and sexually harassed her in front of everyone while the girl begged him to let her go.
Rahim has been identified as a resident of Chhaybaria in the town.
Speaking on the matter, Additional Superintendent of Police Rais Uddin said police are trying to arrest the youths involved in the incident.
