A mother, who was beaten while she protested sexual harassment to her daughter, died undergoing treatment at the upazila hospital on Friday.
The deceased Nurjahan Begum, 40, was battling death for 14 days at Dimla Upazila Health Complex, before succumbing to her injuries.
The victim's son Shah Alam filed a case against 10 people at Dimla police station in connection with the murder, confirmed Sirajul Islam, Officer-in-Charge of the police station.
According to police and locals, one of the accused Sojib, 19, was filming Nurjahan's daughter while she was bathing. Realizing the matter, the girl screamed when Sojib hurled a solid object at her.
When Nurjahan protested the incident, Sojib's mother and a few of his family members beat Nurjahan with sticks which injured her severely, locals added.
Police arrested Sojib and the rest of the accused people in the case have been remaining absconding, OC Sirajul said.
