Feni Zila Parishad chairman Aziz Ahmed passes away

Aziz was elected as the Feni Zila Parishad chairman in the elections of December 2016

Feni Zila Parishad Chairman Aziz Ahmed Chowdhury passed away while undergoing treatment at a Feni hospital early on Monday.

Suffering from old-age complications, Aziz breathed his last around 2:30am at Feni Diabetics Hospital. He was 81, said his son Riyad Aziz Rajib.

Aziz is survived by two sons and two daughters. He was elected as the Feni Zila Parishad chairman in the elections of December 2016.

Aziz Ahmed Chowdhury was born on March 2, 1939. His ancestral home is Hasanpur Chowdhury Bari in Dakshin Anandapur village of Anandapur union of Fulgazi upazila.

After obtaining a BA from Mymensingh Anandamohan College, he started working as a teacher. After a while he became active in politics and social service.

In 1964, he became the president of Anandapur Union of the Awami League.

He was the chairman of Anandapur Union Parishad from 1973 to 1998.

During his tenure, he won the gold medal as the best chairman in 1994.

Nizam Uddin Hazari, Awami League lawmaker of Feni-2 constituency expressed deepest condolences to the bereaved family members of Aziz.

Aziz was an example of honesty in the field of politics. He is a proud member of a family of martyrs, Nizam said.
