An intern medical technologist providing voluntary services to Covid-19 patients in a Gopalganj hospital, was killed after falling from a building on Saturday.
Sushmita Mazumdar Eva, 25, a mother of one, fell from the sixth floor of Sheikh Sayera Khatun Medical College Hospital and was killed on the spot.
She was an intern medical technologist working at Gopalganj 250 bed General Hospital.
Gopalganj Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Md Sanowar Hossain said: "Mohibul Hasan, an engineer from the Biotech Service was talking to six interns including Shushmita, when all of a sudden she fell. Later police recovered her body."
Dr Anup Kumar Mazumdar, Shushmita's uncle and a doctor at the Gopalganj General Hospital, said: "After getting a medical technology degree from Faridpur, she joined Gopalganj General Hospital without payment to provide service to Covid-19 patients.”
Dr Anup said it appeared unlikely to him that Shushmita fell from the building by accident. "I told the district's deputy commissioner to launch an investigation into the matter.”
