Suspended officer-in-charge (OC) of Teknaf police, Pradeep Kumar Das, went to jail on Tuesday afternoon following his fourth time in remand.
Earlier in the day, Rapid Action Battalion produced him in the Cox's Bazar Senior Magistrate's Court after the fourth phase of his interrogation in the murder case of major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan.
Subsequently, Judge Tamanna Farha sent the accused to Cox's Bazar District Jail around 4:30pm.
Confirming the matter, Case Investigation Officer ASP Khairul Islam of RAB 15 said: "We have successfully extracted important information from suspended OC Pradeep in four interrogation sessions spanning a total of 15 days. Now, we must verify this information to continue with the investigation."
Suspended OC Pradeep Kumar Das is the second accused in the murder case and he is yet to record a confessional statement with the court, the IO added.
The same court on Monday put Pradeep on a fresh one day remand.
