A cleaner was killed after he was hit by a private car in Jurain of Shampur, Dhaka on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Md Apan, 18, son of Badsha Mia from Nilphamari.
Bachchu Bhuiyan, in-charge of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police out-post, said Apan and other cleaners were cleaning the road after putting plastic barricades on the road in front of the Postogola toll plaza.
A private car hit Apan after smashing through the barricade, leaving him severely injured, he said.
After being taken to the DMCH, doctors declared him dead, Bhuiyan said.
The body was sent to the morgue for autopsy, he added.
