Ramu police station Officer-in-Charge Abul Khair has apologized in court for making two separate lists for seized items, both containing inconsistencies, in the case filed against Shipra Rani Debnath following the murder of Major (retd) Sinha Md Rashed Khan in Cox’s Bazar.

Cox's Bazar Senior Judicial Magistrate Md Delwar Hossain had summoned the police officer in this regard at 12pm on Thursday.

The court also received a show-cause letter in connection to a previous notice served to the police officer, confirmed MA Bari, a lawyer of Cox's Bazar District and Sessions Judge Court.

According to court sources, Ramu police had seized 29 items after detaining Shipra from the Nilima Resort, where major Sinha and his film crew members had been staying as guests.

But in the case statement against Shipra, police made two lists for the seized items, both of which contained discrepancies.

So the court summoned Ramu police station OC Abul Khair to offer his explanation.

Subsequently, he appeared in court and apologized for this mistake and submitted a written reply to the show-cause notice served to him previously.

Major Sinha was shot dead at Shamlapur check post on the night of July 31 on his way back to Nilima Resort in Himchhari area of Cox's Bazar on Marine Drive after filming a video on Marishbunia hill in Teknaf.

At that time, the police arrested Sifat who was with Sinha and sent him to jail. Shipra was later apprehended from the resort. Both are currently out on bail.
