Police arrested seven suspected members of an inter-district robbery gang from a bus at the Dhaka-Khulna Highway in Kashiani upazila of Gopalganj on Tuesday.
The arrestees were identified as Salam Sheikh, 30, his brother Ilias Sheikh, 28, and Babul Sikdar, 40, all three of Bagerhat, Asik Raihan, 20, of Gazipur; Md Shariful Islam, 35, of Rangpur; Md Zihad Hossain alias Zia, 30, and Farhad Sheikh, 25, both of Khulna.
Kashiani police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Azizur Rahman said, acting on a tip-off, police conducted a raid at Bhatiapara intersection in Kashiani and detained the robbers from a bus of "Imad Paribahan" around 1am on Tuesday.
The arrested persons had several robbery cases filed in different police stations and another case was filed against them at Kashiani police station after they were arrested.
