A college girl has been raped reportedly by her boyfriend, and another man in a residential hotel in Sagordi area of Barisal.
Police arrested three people for their involvement over the matter after the girl filed a case with Kotwali police station on Sunday afternoon, police say.
The arrestee, Sajal Karmakar, 25, of Indurkani under Pirojpur district, has reportedly taken the girl to the Hotel Moon with a promise of a marriage. They boarded the hotel claiming themselves a married couple and Sajal eventually raped the girl that night, the case statement says.
Sensing the incident, another boarder of the hotel, Mizanur Rahman Zakir, 53, broke into the room with help of the manager of the hotel, Abdur Razzak Haoladar, 55, and raped the girl on early morning Sunday.
Hearing her screams, locals informed police, said Abdur Rahman Mukur, officer in charge (investigation) of Kotwali police station.
“Police rushed to the spot, rescued the victim, detained the two rapists and their cohort hotel manager on Sunday morning,” added the OC.
The three arrestees were sent to jail after producing before the court on Sunday afternoon and the victim sent to Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital for medical test and treatment, police sources confirmed.
