A woman has been killed by her husband reportedly over marital disputes, and the man has committed suicide shortly after, in Boulachhara tea garden area in Moulvibazar's Sreemangal on Sunday.
The deceased woman was identified as Alka, 30, a mother of two daughters and a son.
The deceased man Bikul Tantubai, 35, often had arguments with Alka, and early on Sunday the same thing occurred. Bikul hacked Alka in their bedroom and hanged himself from the ceiling, said Narayan Das, a secretary of Mirzapur Union Parishad.
Neighbours discovered the bodies of the couple after hearing the screams of their son and informed police, Narayan added.
Confirming the identities of the deceased persons, Sreemangal police Inspector Md Sohel Rana said the bodies were sent to Moulvibazar Sadar Hospital for an autopsy.
