Police on Friday arrested four people in a case filed for raping a woman in Purondarpur Saddampara area in Jhikargacha upazila.
The arrested identified as Abdul Jalil, 20, Alom Hossain, 30, Jakir Hossain,20, and Hasanur Rahman, 20 live in the area.
Confirming the matter, Jhikargacha police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Abdur Razzak said a group of miscreants raped a 20-year-old woman at a field in Purondarpur Saddampara area at around 9pm on Thursday and left her there in an unconscious state.
Seeing the unconscious woman, a passerby called 999 and police rescued the woman, he said.
"A case was filed accusing 11 people after the incident, and police are conducting drives to arrest the other accused," Abdur Razzak said.
The woman was sent to Jessore General Hospital for medical check up , the OC added.
