A Sylhet-bound inter-city Kalni Express train from Dhaka caught fire after crossing Talshahor Railway Station of Brahmanbaria on Saturday afternoon.
The incident took place around 4:45 pm at the middle of bogies ‘T’ and ‘Tha’. A shock wave swept over the passengers though no injury was reported.
Assistant master of Brahmanbaria Railway Station MainulHaque said, Sylhet-bound Kalni Express train left Kamalapur rail station in the afternoon. The train's power car caught fire immediately after entering the station.
On information, fire fighters from Brahmanbaria rushed to the spot and doused the fire around 5.25pm, said Brahmanbaria Railway Station police station in-charge Setafur Rahman.
No casualty was reported during the incident, he also said.
