A man has been stabbed to death by his friend in Rupsha upazila of Khulna following previous enmity.
The incident happened at Naihati intersection around 7:45pm on Saturday.
The deceased is identified as Suman Sheikh, 25, son of Abzal Hossain Sheikh from Naihati village.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rupsha police station Mollah Zakir Hossain confirmed the matter and said the body of the deceased is in Khulna Medical College Hospital morgue.
Police are continuing their operation to nab the culprit. A person has already been called to the police station for questioning, he added.
According to the police, Sumon got into an altercation with Mahmudul Dhali, 22, son of Abul Bashar Dhali from the same village, over a dispute a month ago.
Following the incident, they gathered in front of a tea shop at Naihati junction on Saturday night and had another dispute. At one point, Mahmudul stabbed Sumon in the stomach, injuring him severely.
Locals rushed Sumon to Khulna Medical College Hospital where on-duty doctors declared him dead.
Khulna Additional Superintendent of Police (A Circle) SM Raju Ahmed, other police officers, and District Special Branch (DSB) members visited the spot and an operation was launched to arrest the person involved.na
