The civil surgeon of Jessore Dr Md Sheikh Abu Shahin has been infected with coronavirus.
The test result came from the Jessore University of Science and Technology (JUST) lab on Sunday.
The civil surgeon said that he is now in isolation at his official residence in the district town.
Fifteen people, including the civil surgeon, were diagnosed with the Covid-19 in the district on Sunday.
With the new cases, total cases have risen to 993 in the district. Besides, so far 14 people died from coronavirus here.
